These cartridges can be useful for people who have a thin oil or liquid. For these cartridges to work properly the wick needs to be able to absorb the liquid that is put inside of the cartridge. If the liquid is too thick than the wick will not absorb any of the liquid, resulting in the liquid not being vaporized. We suggest using plastic cartridges with an oil or e juice that is on the thinner side.
Plastic Vape Cartridges are best suited for buttonless style vape pens that have a lower voltage. If used with a battery that is too high of a voltage it may result in the wick burning, which will give the vapor a burnt taste. This may also result in the wick being burnt out, ruining the cartridge. We suggest using a buttonless stylus vape pen.
Wickless Vape Cartridges are a step up from the plastic vape cartridges with cotton or silica wicks. These cartridges can come with either a plastic or glass tank but are wickless, meaning they use a heating plate to vaporize the liquid instead of a wick. Normally, these cartridges are best suited for thicker oils because they do not have a wick to absorb the oil or liquid. The liquid sits inside of the cartridge, on top of a ceramic heating plate that heats up and directly vaporizes the oil or liquid inside. Because of its wickless design when used with thinner oils there is a possibility of the cartridge leaking. We suggest using wickless cartridges with a thick consistency oil for the best results.
Most wickless vape cartridges are best suited for lower voltage vape pens or vape batteries. We always suggest using a fixed voltage battery to avoid burning the tank or overheating the ceramic plate.
Glass Tank and Ceramic Cell Oil Vape Cartridges
The highest quality vape cartridges on the market today are glass tank vape cartridges and ceramic cell vape cartridges. Glass tank vape cartridges are durable and nice looking, normally made with medical grade glass that is heat resistant. Glass tank vaporizer cartridges are great for any consistency oil as they normally come in a variety of intake hole sizes. They can use either a cotton or silica wick, a wickless design, or a vertical ceramic heating core.
The new standard for vape cartridges today seems to be ceramic cell vape cartridges. There are a few varieties of ceramic cell cartridges. A ceramic cell vape cartridge uses a vertical ceramic rod to absorb and heat up the oil within the cartridge. Since the ceramic is very porous it can absorb the material and vaporize in a more efficient manner than the traditional cotton or silica wick style of cartridges. Ceramic Cell Vape Cartridges are great for thick distillates and oils because they can absorb and heat up the material in an efficient manner. Also, they normally have more intake holes which increases that amount of oil that can be drawn into the core when used.
Vape Cartridge Intake Hole Sizes
When it comes to choosing the right vape cartridge to use it is important to look at the intake hole size. The intake hole is a small opening inside of the cartridge where the oil is drawn into. These holes come in a variety of sizes ranging from as small as 0.5mm all the way up to 2.3mm. The size you choose depends on the thickness of the oil you are using. The thicker the oil the bigger the intake hole. It is important to test out a few sizes before purchasing a large order of vaporizer cartridges.
